New client was retiring and leaving company health plan. The corporate benefits department offered little advice to a long term employee leaving group insurance. We were able to learn what was important to our new client so we could offer all of the Medicare options that were available and appropriate. More importantly through our consultations, we could educate her on all of the various nuances of Medicare and assist her in adding her Part B, a supplement and a Part D prescription plan. She wanted to avoid expensive COBRA plan, so we were able to make all of this happen in perfect timing to her employer insurance end date.
