Medicare Insurance Plans in Dallas & Fort Worth
Before choosing a Medicare insurance and/or Supplement Insurance plan, you should know your options. In particular, you should understand how Medicare Supplements and Medicare Advantage Plans differ. Many people sign up for Advantage Plans thinking they are Supplements, but they are not. Fortunately, Jon Nolan Insurance offers Medicare insurance plans, as well as answers to key questions, for customers in Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Frisco, and throughout our DFW service area.
The chart below provides a good illustration of what is possible with Part A or B (plus add-ons if you'd like) OR with Part C (which can be A, B, and D if you'd like).
A Medicare Supplement Insurance plan is used with original Medicare. Any caregiver that accepts Medicare will take a Supplement because they only need to bill Medicare. At that point, Medicare pays its part (generally 80% of Medicare-covered benefits) and sends the remainder of the bill to the Supplement policy to cover its part (generally 20%).
It is important to note that Supplements do NOT include Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D, PDP). Individuals who do not get a Prescription Drug Plan when first eligible to do so can be assessed a penalty when they add PDP at a later date (some exceptions apply). The coverage parameters of a Medicare Supplement do not change from year to year, although the cost may increase.
